If you enter 'temperature gauge' or 'temperature gauge not working' in the search box or in the Archive, you will find loads of similar questions raised with suggested answers.

Welcome to the forum Camper90. Why not pop over to the General forum and introduce yourself and van.

There is a host of info already on the forum and in the wiki, check it out. I did a quick search for you, I would advise cleaning all contacts!

Mine never worked when i got the van. The gauge would go up slightly but no were near to the accepted half way point. I got the sender out and took my dremel to it with a wire brush attachment. Did the same to the wire and now it works like a charm :)

Many thanks, is the sender fitted to the thermostat base towards the front of the van.

I might be wrong but it might depend on the cooling system. I have an early watercooled and i cleaned the sender up on the water pump / thermostat housing (cant remember exactly where it is)
