Clunky 2nd

Post by BertieWells »

Sometimes recently i have noticed that when i change into second gear (I think only on the up shift) that it goes in with a bit of a clunk. What could be the issues here other than an empty pocket

Firstly I would renew the oil in the gearbox
Does it do it cold or at all times

I had the same and after a search on here decided to change the 30 year old sludge for some new oil. It's a lot better now, not perfect but that's more to do with my clumsy changes. Definitely worth it though just to know how old the oil is.
