Brickwerks dual pods and guages

Post by nordberg »

Hi all,
I want to make some 'tasteful' functional modifications to my van. I am considering buying one of the dual pods for gauges from Brickwerks. I am thinking that an engine oil pressure gauge would come in handy and I would also like to be able to monitor the leisure batter condition also. My engine is a 1.6 Litre (1588cc) JX Turbo Diesel. How difficult would it be to feed the oil pressure gauge with the link from the engine, and how would I go about plumbing in a gauge to monitor the battery?

My sound a bit vague, but any help much appreciated :D

Plumbing might not get you very far with monitoring the battery but you could always wire it in :D. I guess it's just going to be wired in parallel to the battery connections, very simple just two wires.

For oil pressure it is one wire from sender in engine bay to gauge on dash, then the gauge also has a live and earth connection (plus a live and earth oft gauge internal light.)
Time is a drug. Too much of it kills you

And you could use the live from the voltage meter to supply the oil gauge....boom
