Having had a bus modify the back of my van, the insurance company are disputing the amount it will coast to repair, primarily the time it will take to do the repairs (they seem to have excepted the parts will be expensive).
The garage where I intend to get the repairs done (Doug's vw werks ) has estimated 80hrs for the following work
To replace tailgate complete including heated rear window and rare rear wash wipe option this will have to be a second hand part as no longer available
To replace damaged /cracked Westfalia swan neck Removable tow bar again will need to be a second hand part as no longer available
Replace chrome bumper again no longer available
Replace spare wheel carrier syncro specific again no longer available Replica available from Germany
Replace damaged syncro specific spare wheel and tyre
Miscellaneous seals, trim, paint and consumables etc
The rear corner bodywork and rear engine Bay Area including lower valance of the body work will need to be straightened with a jig/ porta power system then prepared and repainted along with the replacement tailgate to match the metallic red paint.

I cannot give an opinion about the repair costs but....
If the damage caused was 100% not your fault and the other party has accepted that demand that the vehicle be returned to how it was before the accident.
Google - Honest John motors. He's the Daily Telegraph motoring expert and he as a section about this.
Basically they can winge all they want but you can demand it be repaired.

L o chap
Seeing as you have an expert opinion/quote. Instead of 'arguing' with them saying hours are correct, is it not worth asking them why they think your professional/specialist quote is wrong, what they suggest is the correct hours and from what expertise they are drawing from to disagree?
Put it back on them to qualify any estimate they provide instead of giving a straight 'no' maybe?
good luck chap

yes got to agree ^^^^ the bits you see are easy peezy, its the slight or other shift of adjacent areas, again the hours quoted need apportioning and hold this info to yourselves and request the engineer states hours needed per task and gives this in writing, then compare and discuss
