Temperature light flashs when indicator used

Post by Grantourer »

Good day Ladies and Gentlemen.

I have an intriguing little fault on my LLE. Occasionally when I use the indicators, the light in the temperature gauge flashes. I have cleaned all the earth crowns under the dash. Does any body have any pointers to the fault or had a similar fault? Thanks in advance for any assistance given.

Regards, Graham

You can probably guess by the lack of responses that this has stumped people!!

In theory those two circuits don't have much in common ....
It certainly sounds like one of those weird 'ground' issues that can occur so anything you can do to clean up the grounds is likely to help (I know you've tried this once already)
Is there a way for you to reliably repeat the fault?? Or is it truly random?
Does the gauge needle do anything when it happens?
Are headlights on/off?

Any more info you can add will help folks with a diagnosis??
(If you can reliably repeat the fault then you might try pulling the 42/43 relay out and seeing if that 'fixes' the fault - that would at least narrow the search down to finding the culprit??)

Thanks for the reply. The fault is random, will do it only when you indicate. I will try the relay, and see what happens.
