Ive just read your suggestions to use a vw emporium screen rubber but have already ordered a brikwerks one. Does anyone have any experience of theirs?

Re: windscreen rubber
Used a Brickwerk one when i replaced my windscreen two years ago-Vw Emporium one was out of stock -Professional Fitter was relieved when he saw/felt the seal as he'd had issues on other vehicles with crap seals so can only conclude they are of a adequate quality for fitting! Two years on and it still looks good

Re: windscreen rubber
I used a brickwerks one very recently...went in without any major issues...have fitted a a "bad" one in the past and was nearly brought to tears with it!
No idea who makes them...but they work ok.

Re: windscreen rubber
That's a relief thanks chaps. All that remains is to see what is under the old one!!! and source a new screen. (the old one has gone speckled in places between the glass layers.)

Re: windscreen rubber
Well old screen out and we have a four inch section of the lip to repair (welded in a section) together with some small holes just infront of it on the passenger side. Drivers side just needed a grind down with a mini grinder. All treated with rust killer then painted with zinc primer, then brush painted with matched acrylic paint. Fast fit windscreens had a choice in stock a clear one and one with a green strip across the top. I decided on clear. £78 for the screen and £40 to come out and fit it (plus vat)
They examined the brickwerks rubber and said that it was a cracker, lovely and pliable. The screen went in a treat (they did not want to put mastic on it, said it would seal no problems but if not they would do it again!!!)
