Plastic tank

Post by Eloise »

Hi,
What is the plastic tank tucked up in the passenger wheel arch for? Looking at the pipes, is it some sort of expansion or breather tank for the petrol tank? I have been smelling fumes all weekend and one of the pipes has come off a stub on the petrol tank and needs replacing, worn and brittle and won't bite on the barb of the outlet.

Cheers.

Yes you're right its an expansion tank for the fuel, there's one in each front wheel arch.

Fumes will be coming from the (now) brittle pipes that go from these vent boxes to the petrol tank. Hoses should be replaced at earliest opportunity but you'll need thin arms :D
