CT exhaust sourcing problem

Post by Hoveronly »

Hi all,

Im new on this block and need an exhaust for my 1600 CT engined van. Problem is that the type I had was superceeded and i cant find one. Factory number is 070 251 053A. It has round inlets clamped to the exhaust box where the 'newer' type has bolted fixtures. Can anyone point me where I might get one?

Many thanks

Doubt if anyone makes them now, they changed over to the flange type after only a year of production.
The easiest option is to have an specialist exhaust maker to cut the flanges of the new type and make some new old type lipped pipes.

E D I T just checked VW classic parts they still to them.

Thanks bigherb

My next step is to indeed have the flanges replaced - bit of a pain though!

Cheers
