interior light
I bought some warm white L.E.D's for the interior lights from campervanculture at Busfest and fitted one over the drivers door, massive improvement then went to fit one over the sliding door and noticed it was broken when I took it out, went to Megabug and bought a new one,the light over the drivers door looked a bit dirty compared to my new one so decided to give it a wash out and thoroughly dried it before refitting it,it does not work now!,no problem I thought I will fit the new one there instead, really tight fit,so tight it actually snapped in two,now I three interior lights and none of them work, will contact megabug as that was a waste of ten quid and will buy geniune next time

Re: interior light
bought THREE replacements from brickwerks, they were 4 pounds 70 p cheaper each than megabug and are Hella lights(made in china),will try and fit them without mishaps this weekend,as I said in my original post if anyone is thinking about replacing there interior lights with L.E.D's the warm white I bought from Campervan culture (jed the spread) are a huge improvement over the original and a lot less power consumed,a good buy

Re: interior light
If you have an alarm that is triggered by voltage drop (ie when doors opened and interior light comes on), LED replacement lights/bulbs won't trigger it - in the same way that LED indicator bulbs tend to confuse stock flasher relays. However, as a source of lighting inside a camper, LED lights are hard to beat as you can leave them on with little or no contribution to running the battery down. Some say the light emitted is unpleasant but personally I find it much easier to read print under LED lighting and there is now so much choice, I don't think that argument stands up any longer.

Re: interior light
LEDs are spot on if you want a specific area illuminated. They are next to useless at providing all round illumination however; you can't beat an old fashioned fluorescent for that. Ideally, having both in your camper covers all the bases.CovKid wrote:Some say the light emitted is unpleasant but personally I find it much easier to read print under LED lighting
I've had LED's in the van courtesy lights for years, they're very good in them providing you can stop them spinning round when you operate the switches.
