Hello all im a newbie and hope to be the owner of a 1980 westy poptop with L shape rear seating layout very soon
I have a question in regards to kids seats, I have 2 kids aged 2 and 5, currently it has 3 rear lap top belts in L shape set up, i can buy a britax eclipse for my 2 year old short term but the 5 year will need a booster seat and then the 2 year old will need a booster the problem is that booster seats need 3 point belts.
Im not sure what i do in regards to getting rear 3 point belts fitted or if its even possible on both sides in an L shape rear layout?
any help/contacts greatly appreciated im based in the surrey/london area.
cheers

You can use the two lap belt mounting points to the rock-and-roll bed as the basis for a pair of three point seatbelts. Get and fit one of the three-point belt kits from Brickwerks here:
http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/index.php/r ... it-t3.html
You didn't say whether you have a LHD or RHD van but I'm assuming LHD here - they also do a version for a RHD van. Then get Seatbelt Service to fit another three point belt on the same side as in this picture on their website:

They have a mobile fitter working in and around London so your location shouldn't be a problem. Then you're sorted with two three-point belts in the back, and you can use whichever child seats you want.
One thing to look out for when you get the belts fitted - make sure you ask them to put short receivers on i.e. the bit that the seatbelt clips into. If you use long receivers with child seats you can sometimes find that the receiver head won't go through the child seat and so you cannot get the belt to hold the child seat tight to the bench.
Good luck.

thank you very much indeed for this, it is indeed LHD, it great that is possible and not too much of a headache to sort.
I was hoping it would cost around the £250 mark but have a feeling its going to more than that for 2.

Give Seatbelt Service a call - it's been a couple of years since we had ours done. If you fit the Brickwerks kit yourself I would guess both will be a little bit more than that.
