Windscreen wipers won't park, lost slow speed

Post by nesty »

Hi

My windscreen wipers are now doing strange things.

When I push the stalk to low speed nothing happens, but they work fine on high speed. (I don't have any intermitent option).

Also, when I turn them off they stop dead, IE don't park & return to the bottom.

Any ideas. I have the earlier T25 version (non blade fuse type), as I a post that blade fuse models sometimes suffer with non parking of the blade.

The early fuse box only uses one fuse (fuse 10) for the wipers that rules out power supply. Assume you mean that intermittent wipers are not fitted (it will make a difference if they are or have been fitted in the past as the relay or bridging link would be at fault) than as the parking and slow speed operation are separate wires then it looks like a wiper motor fault, check the connector block is still pushed home onto the wiper motor, then check green/black wire becomes live when the wipers are switched to low speed and the black/grey wire is live when the ignition is switched on.
