water pipe

hi my water pipe is leaking the one wich connects to expansion tank left side of engine dg 1900 petrol 52 pounds from vw does this mean the rest will start rusting or are they plastic are there any o rings or gaskets i need to order so that ican finish it in one go thanks dave b

--the metal water pipes rust thru cos the paint is thin on the large one its good to check for rust spots & touch in with hammerite---you will need an '0' ring to connect pipe to water pump& get a jubilee clip for the other end rather than reuse the spring clip to attach rubber pipe

looks like the paint must come of due to heat from exhaust as i only noticed it leaking because of the steam coming from,the water droping on the exhaust are all the pipes metal thanks dave

-can you explain Bob--I found jubilee clips will seal an old hose that refiting spring clip wouldnt--tho would it be possible to crack plastic pipe if you tightened jubilee clip excessivley?--
