Autosleeper underslung water tank PROBLEM SOLVED

Trying to find some info on the water tank on my autosleeper. I think it needs a seal but not sure if I'm able to get one. Anyone able to point me in the direction of some info anywhere. Looked at WIKI but couldn't find anything.

Thanks bri. It's the one where the drain tap/pipe goes into the bottom of the tank. I've googled it as well but can't really decide if all the tanks have a similar set up. As it's fresh water I really need to make it all safe so can't use ordinary silicone to sort it.

My drain valve is at rear of tank, in the rear vertical section. If you need some sealant Plumbers Mait is probably the stuff, not expensive. Do you want me to have a shuft at mine tonight, or a photo? Bri

Hole in tank which is on the inside wall ie, facing centre of van. Note the plastic nut it appears to have left behind. Looks like tank will have to come out in the not too distant future, though the hole in the tank itself is threaded and appears to have tightened up ok so no rush. (I hope).

So, all in all not too bad. Glad to see the nut in the tank isn't covered in green algae. Thanks for replies Bri.
Next job will be to remove the tank straps and either de-rust and paint or replace.

E D I T: All put back together now and the leak is sorted.

Well done! I took my tank off a while ago and painted the straps and fitted a new piece of marine ply under it, the original ply was well past its sell by date. Easy job but made me happy! Glad you are sorted, Bri

repaired mine a couple of years ago when the tank was out,I replaced the tap with a new tap from Wickes or B&Q cannot remember which one with a tap from a waterbutt,fitted exactly,not the fastest flowing tap but does the job and it was cheap
