Devon T25 bed platform

Post by Thorssen »

Hi

Last year on a trip to the garage my rear storage/bed support (the moulded plastic bit that the cushion nearest the tailgate sits on) platform suffered a fatal blow from a mechanics foot, and was destroyed beyond repair. I've cobbled together a replacement but it's not a perfect fit and I wondered if anyone has a platform they could measure, and send me dimensions and an image.

I'd be grateful if anyone out there can help.

Chris

Chris - what interior have you got? if it's a match for my van (specs below) I actually have the base in the house at the moment and could supply some details for you. It's a moulded tray with a removable carpeted ply lid, interior space for the table storage, and a ply bottom.

Funnily enough I removed all the furniture from the rear before taking the van to the garage so that the mechanic had no opportunity to break, lose or liberally grease any of it...

Cheers

I have mended the Devon tray in the inside with fibre glass mat from Halfords and some grey ABS cement used to weld pipes. I also fitted a reinforcing strip across the centre where the bed rests on it to give it a bit more support.

Hi - my Devon doesn't have a tray but has a wooden storage compartment with a hinged lid which looks to be covered with the original carpet so I think it's been like that from the start. Can take some photos at the weekend.

Hi

Thanks for the replies. My Devon is a 1983 conversion. The plastic unit sounds exactly like the one I had.
It would be great if both of you could send pics and dimensions over. I can pm you with an email address if that makes things easier?

Have a look down this page. On my phone so can't be arsed to copy separate photos. Just built a box and trimmed it. Just lie the bed back and measure the height you need as I am sure they will not be exactly the same.
