Front shocker mount orientation...

Post by HarryMann »

Bentley says the shocker mounts should be fitted with the spring end (recess) to rear on the lhs of vehicle and front on rhs.

Anybody know why and if it makes any difference. Somebody suggested it didn't.

A pain to turn around if you've put them both the same

Damn, this is news to me. I've just done this job, and can't remember there being any other way to put them but the way they came off: the spring 'end' fits into a recess on the lower suspension arm - only one way it can go - and this, surely, determines the way the rest of it goes?

Not a job I'd want to do again, that's for sure. Hope someone in the know comes along shortly, to put our minds at ease.
