Selecting First Gear .....

Post by Georgedog »

Selecting 1st gear on my bus is a bit of a bind ...
seems not to want to go in, kinda spring resistance ??? so i whip it back to 2nd [or near as damn 2nd] then it pops straight into 1st ??? This happens at most junctions etc ???

Any ideas welcome ??????????????????

Its the same on my old 1.6 Westy.

Its easier to put it into 2nd gear then up into first.

Try putting it into 1st straight away and it goes into 3rd!

Benn ... Dunno ? as a matter of course, i never drop cars into 1st unless stopped, but 4 speed boxes seem pretty wide spaces between ratios + sometime would be handy to 1st on move ..... Mine struggles when stood still !!!!!
