A blanking plate has fallen off my new distributor

Hi,

A blanking plate has fallen off the side of my new distributor - it's only been on for about a 100 miles.

Is this important? Nor sure if I need to fix it back on somehow and if so how to go about it - does it need to be air tight?

Its just to keep the dirt out
Stick it back in the hole and tap it in

so did mine, superglue did the trick
