Temp fix for leaking radiator

Ok, so I'm about an hour from home and I have a leaking radiator. It's quite a fast drip, and will no doubt empty the van of fluid after not long.

I'm going to try Wynns radiator sealant to see if it will get me home but-
Since the header tank is in the back, shall I bung it in there or at the top of the radiator?!

Don't.

Stop regularly, and top the coolant up.
If the leak's too bad for that, ring your breakdown cover and get the van recovered.

Putting goop in the cooling system doesn't just block up that known leak. It clogs anything and everything up. You will curse it in years to come.

And re putting it directly into the rad, you would have a heck of a job pouring it into that tiny bleed hole anyway!

Try running with the dalek cap loose so the system doesn't pressurise, that might slow the water leak.

Wynnes is fine because it works differently to other products. As long as it is in the system the circulation of the fluid will get it to where it is needed.
Not sure I would run it unpressurised.
Assuming you have breakdown cover, getting a lift home would seem a good shout.

K-seal works a treat, you might have to get it at your local garage though.

Phone dies and ran out of battery before I read all this. Opps. Ended up using radweld (yes I know, after reading now that I'm home that I'm probably going to regret this decision). Balls.

Anyways, seemed to slow the leak significantly enough to drive back and I made it home. Next stage is flushing the whole lot out and either fixing or replacing the radiator entirely.

Looked online and they seem not too bad in terms of price. Considering this since it's close to me:

I fitted that one from euro car parts and so far it's been super, got me all over France and back no problem.
