best paint for redoing door handles?

best paint for redoing door handles?

whats the best paint to use, i tend to use halfords black bumper paint on plastics then a clear satin lacquer , any other ideas/

I sanded mine down and painted them with rustoleum combi colour as per the 'paint your wagon with a roller' thread. I used a sponge brush. Did the job, but was fiddly.

P. S. Order some new gaskets before taking your handles off as they'll probably crumble/split!

Don't use smoothrite, mine are crap now. Not happy :(

Sand down, etch primer, 3-4 coats of satin black then seal it with lacquer. Take time to sand it down nicely (not down to bare metal) and you'll have a good finish for primer/paint to grab onto. Good quality lacquer makes a difference in terms of how long the nice finish will last.

Mine were done that way and are still nice.
