Leisure battery from Alpha Batteries
Probably old news for some but for those who don't know...It fits like a glove! Xplorer 100LB pattern, 100Ah, "dual purpose" deep cycle, currently £85 delivered (May 2014)
Comes with 4 year warranty too.
Best stick a bit of old inner tube or similar dense thin rubber onto the underside of your batter box lid, you don't want it shorting out and it is very close.
You will also need crimped battery terminals as there is no headroom for the ones with screws, unless you use grub screws wound down flush
Alpha Batteries have an ebay webshop "the battery man"
and they arrive very well packed. Recommended.

Re: Leisure battery from Alpha Batteries
Just bought one of these myself as it happens...fits a treat but I have it with the posts at the front of the van and those clip on quick release terminal jobbers...they fit Under the lid no problem and are insulated by the plastic clippy bits..not convinced its a true 100ah but it fills the space totally so as good as it gets really.
I did fit a pair of the side bar spacers to ensure a solid fit as wel...just need a genuine clamp of mr b now and jobs a good un.

Re: Leisure battery from Alpha Batteries
How's the performance of these going so far? I've heard (and seen) the doubts as to it 100AH authenticity but hows it actually panning out.
Saying its 100 when its not will surely get them found out and open to hassle. Looking at 2 myself (maybe one at a time to spread cost!)

Re: Leisure battery from Alpha Batteries
To the sceptics 'ME' ....someone needs to connect a professional battery tester to one of these 'so called' 100ah batteries.

Re: Leisure battery from Alpha Batteries
i am happy with my alpha 80ah batteries... isn't there a way they fudge the results? like give figures off different discharge rates? As i say though, 2 years in and happy with mine

Re: Leisure battery from Alpha Batteries
I don't know what anyone can grumble about tbh. It's the biggest leisure battery that will fill the space available. Even if they are pushing the definition of 100Ah, how many Ah do you really need?

Re: Leisure battery from Alpha Batteries
In my limited experience 2 of these type of 100Ah batteries don't last as long as two 77AH Bosch S5's. You get a 5 year warranty on the Bosch batteries.
