Pop top canvas thoughts..

Post by chrispow01 »

Hello all,

Will soon be replacing my westy pop top canvas and was wondering how you guys have got on with the various replacements on the market. After a bit of trawling it seems they range from £180 to up to £400. It would be great to have the benefit of your experiences before laying out the hard earned...

Many thanks in advance.... :ok

Best to have a feel at the different fabrics....some are thin...some are heavier.

I bought mine from Gunzl (369 euros now which equals £300) for the one with three flaps. The advantage with that option is that even if it's raining you can part open the side vents without rain coming in and carry on resting or cooking, which you can't do with the front vent. They have two options. If yours is attached to the metalwork using aluminium strips you need the later type 1985 onwards.

I am happy with mine, although the standard canvas continues to be thin compared to the canvas on my previous T2. There are other options which I'm sure others will suggest!

Thanks Ralf/Keith,
Suppose its a case of you get what you pay for, mine is the one with the aluminium strips for fixings so will keep that in mind..
I like the three window type aswell so will probably go for that style..

Cheers for the input

Chris
