glow plug relay #2

Post by gilbert »

I've fitted a new glow plug relay (thanks to bradcab) but now, instead of the light going off when the engine starts, it stays on permanently!
Any thoughts?
:?

are the glow plugs staying on , check to see if the relay is still feeding 12v to the glowplugs if so could be the temp sender which tells the relay the engine is cold/hot so needs the glow plugs on/off, if not then the usual wiring connectors or even faulty new relay.

mine was a blue 89 Td Hitop

Go back over what you've done chekin all the connections, could well be one or more of the glow plugs are knackered. Bad earths are common, start with simple things first.

Check fuse!
Double check relay conection
check not knocked any wires off
check & test temp sender earth and feed
check glow plugs
