Accelerator spring

Post by biker1981 »

I have noticed that my accelerator spring on my 2.0 Aircooled seems very stretched and a bit homage with loads of slack

I read a recent article about someone who replaced the spring and flounder there van loads quicker

Anyone know where I could buy the right spring please

The spring will just allow the throttle to snap back quicker, but I agree, they can get tired. You could fit a newer or slightly stronger one but make sure the cable is in good condition too - along the whole length. If in doubt fit a new one when you refurb the throttle spring.

as a temp fix use a cable tie to pull about half of the spring together it will give you a bit more pulling power
