T25 1982 hand brake lever

Our hand brake lever has lost all it's teeth!! So it won't lock on when parked. I'm looking for a replacement lever but do I need to get an exact copy - ie 1982 lever or can I buy a newer t25 lever? Seen a few for sale but they tend to be younger. I'm reluctant to buy them in case they are not 'compatible' . Any advice, suggestions would be really helpful - thanks

I think there pretty much the same. I had same issue on my 81 and just fitted one from a 86
