Devon camper electrics. What's the deal?

Post by Flyingchunk »

Hey all

I've spent a fair but of time working on out Devon T25. It's a 1980 pop top.

Now I've out in some more wiring for lighting. Easy.

I'm going to put in a new Stereo and speakers. Also easy.

However I can get my head around the mad a confusing wiring going to and from the batteries and the back of the van, fridge etc.

Not sure if it Devon original, bUt I have a hook up plug leading in from behind the RH wheel arch which leads to a small box with two "circuit breakers" (like you have in your house I guess).

Can anyone help me understand how it all works or is supposed to work?

I'd like to work on it, but understand it first.

Cheers

Have you had a look in the Wiki (link at top of page).
There is all sorts of info in there about electrics/main hookup/split chargers etc etc

Do you have a zig unit mounted into the wardrobe and a relay box behind the driver seat?
