Hi all, I have a 1.9 DG panel van, had an overheating issue, had no thermostat, a dodgy pressure cap and distorted header tank so that's all been replaced. Now the van heats up and the needle sits just past the led on the gauge. Is this normal as I have no reference to go by?
Its not overheated again and the header tank is still full. The expansion tank level goes up when hot then falls as the engine cools, which as far as I can tell from the wiki is normal but should it be gurgling and sucking like that?
Any help.is much appreciated!

Re: gurgling noise after engine is switched off??
Hi mate,
I have had gurlgling too....mine was from the front, and I would get it when turning the engine off....sounds like water going down a plug hole is the nearest I can describe it. Have another go at bleeding it. Was your heater turned to fully hot when you bled it??
Not entirely sure why mine stopped....I just kept on with the bleeding at the rad.
I think mine may have been in the heater matrix and associated pipework...as the gurgling seemed to come from the centre of the van not too far away.
Your temp needle sounds ok. I have 3 and they all sit in different places....the thing to watch out for is when they do sommat different...whether suddenly or gradually!

It can take a couple of attempts to bleed it properly for sure.
