You could try Screwfix Direct as they stock several small generators. In fact they do a range of five petrol & two diesel generators from £70 to £700. I bought the small 2 stroke Wolf with 650w constant output for £50. Screwfix no longer stock that particular one but as you may know B&Q now own Screwfix & they are currently selling the same one at £50. It all depends how much you want to pay. Some of the cheaper one can be a tad noisy. My generator has a standard 3 pin socket so I have to use a short cable 3pin plug/round plug to connect to the hook up cable.

How much was that one Rob ?
And how quiet is it ? ( Bit subjective I know, I will leave it to you to figure out how to explain "how quiet is it" in print

Tends to be for a few hours around mid-day when most people are usually off site.
And quite right too !!
I hate folks being so selfish as to run genny's well into the night - happens at shows too often !

Apsolutely!
A well equipped van shouldnt need mains supply at all, imo
There is nothing more annoying than a bliddy generator running constantly. You mostly find them with gennys also have crap moosic playing all night too......

Yup
And if you do need mains, a decent, big battery and an inverter is what I use.
Then if you need to charge it up, go for a lil drive
I know, in a previous thread, some said that it takes xx hours to re-charge a battery, but I have not found this to be the case in practice.
Ooops bit of a "hijack" going on here
 sorry maximus.
Have to say there are many good bargains around it seems, and quietness would be first on my list list of priorities.

Wow that is pretty quiet - though I guess the quality etc is reflected in the highish price ( for my income anyway
 )
One point =
Take it there is a miss-print or am I reading it wrong !!

Of course if I was to buy one, it would have to go to Steve at Gasure for an LPG conversion. I don't like buying black gold any more
