ULTRALEDS led's

Post by phredd »

  • I am thinking of doing a light upgrade to the rear of my bus. (T25)
As far as I know it has the standard light clusters, both stop-tail and indicator.

Thinking of using the following :-
    • (1) U38025R (25 led stop-tail).
      (2) U38225A (25 Amber led Indicator.

Would like some oppinions/advice on them please before I go and spend:-
like will they go straight in as they are with no mods to wire's or will mods be needed ??

Are they street legal yet? Some that I have seen and bought say off road use only. Maybe rules changed now?

  • Well from what I have been told the ones I intend to use are legal.
With the amount of new vehicles now using them they must be.

    I hope so anyway.

Technically they need a CE mark on them to be truly legal no matter how many folk have them, don't be fooled by terms such as “mot legal"| or “street legal"|, often used to sell Illegal parts to boy racers.
As long as they comply with the construction and use regulations you will be ok. It may be that one day your stopped not by a traffic cop who by and large wont care about the bulbs unless you fail the attitude test, but a VOSA inspector they will take any illegal bulbs from you.

Cheers
