HI can anybody offer advice My t25 loses power a quarter the way through the acceleration distance what should a look at first fuel supply or coil or what else any suggestions would be greatfuly recieved thanks in advance..

It is a DG engine

I am currently having the same issue with my 1.9 dg engine , its almost like it pulls low down in first followed by a slight pause then lift off

I`m currently re building my carb and replacing filters ect

I have been down the new coil leads rotor arm avenue

I had this exact issue and it was the exhaust. Replaced all the manifolds and all fixed!!

Deffo check the coil! Had the same problem with mine today after being stuck in heavy traffic. Total flat spot half throttle, picked up with no throttle and then would only get power again on full throttle?! Pulled over and the coil felt hotter than the sun! I also noticed that the metal connections to the 'positive' on the coil were all green so cleaned them up with a little wire brush & swapped back to my old bosch coil & the van is running sweet again. Note that the hot coil was not even a year old, but it was not a bosch so I would recommend you get a decent one.

Alternatively, check the vacuum advance is working as it should.

Poor running flat spot and poor starting was my issue i tried everything

What worked for me was stripping down the carb and ultrasonic cleaning it using new gaskets and drives and idles like new

Starts on the button revs smooth and pulls off from stationary without a bit of a sputter

Might be worth trying this , if it doesnt work atleast it is something you can rule out and it wont need doing again for another 10 years at least if looked after

Saw your other thread with the ultrasonic cleaning d.o.t, looks pretty smart. I gave my carb a damn good cleaning too prior to fitting to the new engine about 9 months ago, but just want to make sure all is well so going to take it to a chap called Aaron at ht racing at brands hatch in the next couple of weeks where I'm going to get him to give it a lookee over.

Flat spots are caused by many things... exhausts, timing and mixture.
It would be interesting to know what you have done with the advice given already.

What the blithering heck does that comment mean?
