Gearbox problems, 5 gears

Post by swedepete »

My gears suddenly relocated so that I touch the dash engaging 2nd and 3rd gear.
It started out with reverse not going into place. Reverse is located to the left of 2nd.
Also all gears seem to be located more to the left than you would expect.
Is that a spline problem?
How do I solve it?

sounds like some worn out bushes to me :D
from the wiki...check it out :D
Also, as the gearlever goes through the floor, its pivoted in a complicated set of bushes and springs - a repair kit is available

We did it without repair kit, just had to bend the gear lever back into its original shape. A repair kit would make it even better. But thanks anyway.

But was it because it bent in the first place? If not, you should also look elsewhere, to avoid losing the lot when it really matters.

If it was bent and then bent back - are you happy this won't subsequently break (not unknown)
