speedo late or early

Hi I have a air cooled westy and am looking for a speedo in mph, mine is the early screw on cable type but as I have just made it rhd I have to buy the cable too, so just a quick question can I use a later speedo in my housing and buy the later cable to fit? I gather the hub side is the same? many thanks in advance
