location of AAZ engine code

Post by skell »

Can anyone tell me where the engine number is hidden on an AAZ lump, insurers want to know if, I've found a 5 character number on a plate at top front side just below the cylinder head but it doesn't start AAZ, is that it?

Would love to know myself too...

Don't think you will find AAZ on the engine itself...

The side of the block under the manifolds should have a large 1.9 cast into it, if thats they want to know (1.9 not 1.6), but it doesn't qualify that with which 1.9 (there are 3 I think)

It's in the same place as it is on all the other Diesels.
Stamped on the block, just below the head gasket between cylinders 3 and 4.
They can be a pig to see but they are deffo there.
