butchered wiring

Post by Bikerboy53 »

I have a 1.6 diesel 1986 transporter, I have changed the eath straps a new battery , new glow plug relay and fuse link wire. The ignition turns over tbe engine but no power getting to the fuel solenoid which works if I hotwire it ... I have found out today by pressing on some of the block connectors in the box in the engine bay that tne relay starts to click and used a test lamp and power getting to this area ... also the loom has been butchered along th lenght to tbe rear lights... would this be part of the starting problems
Thanks charlie

Could be anything if somebody has been playing about with the wiring, it might even have a hidden immobiliser switch.
