Picked up one of these yesterday, more to play about with. Makes an uncomfortable noise in an enclosed space like a camper. Painted black and even integrated into the dash? Put it this way you soon want to get out if it goes off....
Under a fiver, two remotes, and board will run off 6v. Doesn't need to be in the case it came in. Just needs a voltage dropper to obviate need for AA batts. One for Ghost methinks.

It would work off 5v just use a 12v-5v voltage regulator.

Or if you want to power your dashcam and sat nav use a 5A one and fit some dc sockets.

You know me too well Ralph,

I have had one of these in the Hi-Top since I bought it

I have not bothered with a power supply, when I fitted it (in a concealed-ish place), I hard wired 4 x "C" Ni-Cads (in a battery box thing) to it. I have only had to re-charge them once in 2+ years.
For some unknown reason, despite the fact I had not "armed it" the bliddy thing went off once in the night. It was an unpleasant 30 seconds until I found the key fob thingy

I will leave mine in the Hi-Top when we sell it (soon) and not sure if I will fit the remaining one I have into the Tin-Top as it is all a bit "belt and braces" as I (and no doubt many others) have a conventional alarm fitted to the Tin-Top as well.

Any idea of a way to make it a tadge louder still John? I think its a peizo element in there but presumably it could be hooked up to something bad ass? Relay? better speaker? attach to a 300 watt amp??

Yeah, just enough to unsettle their eardrums as they rifle through your glovebox Rob
Seriously though, if the sound is loud enough, they're going to leg it pretty fast. Alarms are one thing but an ear-splitting racket inside a metal box has to be good way to get them out smartish.
Well, unless they're stone deaf or go prepared.....
Actually, aren't those dutch caps?
