Post by jeffdub »

my vans in the bodyshop next month for its rebuild and im sourcing new panels , ive looked at schofields tall rear arch panels then looked at vw emporium panels and there's about £30 difference in price , I know you get what you pay for but are the vw emporium ones worth the extra money ? thanks jeff

I would only fit genuine vw panels as the rest need that much work to fit ,

They will be the same panels, for some reason people on here say buy them from schofields they are better quality than jk. Now I find it amusing to think that at the factory when they are being made, some guy on the press says arh this one is going to schofields better make a better job of it! Every tall arch ive bought from jk/schofields is the same, same sticker same supplier, it was any way last I bought them 10yrs ago up in till a few weeks ago.

Not fitted any for a yr or so, but they get delivered to me, regularly. All look the same, same sticker. Unless when schofields are sending out they say this is for mm better give him a good en. :rofl probably fitted 50 at a guess. Hopfully il never fit another.

To faggie, you've got plenty of cash so you can afford to fit vw.

ahh you see i never said the panels were different ( some are different manufacturer but for the sake of this i will leave that aside) the op asked best place to get them ,which i took literally, heres why
rear tall arches , do you want me to link you to the posts ive made some time last year with ref to jk ones? they got a very large card box dropped a panel in then found another that had already been returned to them , they wiped the crayon etc off (but not well enough) and then chucked some card over it and so we have 2 wings and a few other bits in a box all nice and loose then shipped out, i forget how many i returned to them till the penny may have dropped that their packer wants sacking on the spot,
now excepting the fact that the packer tried to pawn me off with it, ( jk should have kept it for there trade stand and flogged it cheap)
so my point was look how well a firm packs stuff so that it has a fighting chance of arriving in at least the state it was manufactured, also all the nsr tall wings have a poor press at the top right, last dozen or so ive fitted have been the same.

Yes I know what you mean about jk and big boxes, ive complained several times, always get told its the couriers fault they leave there warehouse perfect, well that's what they say! Ive always thought its the offside rear wing top right that comes a bit dodgy? But the op asked if the vw emporiums were better quality than schofields, In a round about way, I tried to say no there probably not, as id be surprised if they were any different .It always makes me smile when I get deliveries from a different suppliers, had one from a well recommended one that always get mentioned on here, the packing was shreaded GSF boxes.
