DK gearbox - where is the filler / level plug !!

Post by ghost123uk »

OK - I think I must be going daft.

I enquired a week or so ago re what tool I need to fill the gearbox on my DG, fitted with a DK gearbox. I was told it was a 17mm hex type key.

OK so I got one of them and crawled underneath to make sure the filler / level plug came out OK before draining.

I have seen the drain plug on a std DG box, but mine was not in the same place, so with torch in one hand and oily rag in the other, I wiped, shone the torch all around the box, left side, right side, rear face, even felt around the top.

BUT I cannot find a filler / level plug

I know some more modern boxes are "sealed for life" ( Pah !! ) but surely not this one ?

Any thoughts folks ?

It's right next to the shift bracket on a DK box (DK was fitted to 2 litre a/c)
