Black Box

Post by johnlampett »

I have a 1985 2.1 Caravelle LHD

I have just found a black box on the inside
It is attached to LHS rear wheel arch , i did not know it was there until the kids found a secret panel in the cupboard

They suspect previous owner was a drug runner

Anyone know what it is ?

Its an optional extra for owners who wish to self destruct the van when the rust is to much.

Try cutting the wires and see what stops working :shady

Actually, that was meant to be a joke, but if you do that carefully and rejoin carefully ( chokkie bloks ) it's not such a bad idea !!

My suggestions are =
A split charge thing
An Alarm thing
A Eber heater thing
Summat to do with a sound system
Got a new van, but it's a 165bhp T4 [shock horror] Accurate LPG Station map here

DONT CUT THE WIRES! he he you bad bastards, I 'm assuming you have an MV code 2.1 engine, the box is the ECU or brain for your engine.

No, I am not going to cut any wires

Yes its a 2.1 petrol engine

MCU is something I will have to read up on

But on the back wheel arch is a strange place for it

Thanks
