Where to MOT in Hampshire?

Post by willycarson »

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good garage to get my 1985 T25 Caravelle MOTd at in Hampshire? I live in Lymington so the closer the better. It's the first time I've MOTd this van and I want to avoid the classic case of garages seeing pound signs when I turn up.

Cheers!

I use" MOT's Only" in Southampton as they do not do work and are not looking for it also they understand older vans, you could also try the bus depot in Southampton as they do not do work and are very fair.

I use Purdys in Portchester, probably the wrong end of Hampshire for you but they are good.

Check with your local authority/council. They have to offer MOTs to the public and have no vested interest in failing you as they do not do repairs. So if it fails it will be an honest failure.
Have taken my van to my local authority for 7 years and always been happy with the outcome - even the failures!

Might be a bit further away from you willy, but my folks live in Downton (wiltshire one!) and the old man uses Skylark (SP5 2LW - 01725-510282). The chap there has a couple of T25's which he hires out and they also have a body shop as well - my dad has had a few bits done on his 1973 Bay.

Bitterne Mate, but I have been going to them when they were down West Quay RD and they always try their best and as long as you have done everything on the advisories list from last year they seem happy.
