Hi all, my van has sat on my drive for nearly 1 year (2l cu Aircooled) and i have charged the battery ect and got her running again. I am booked in for an mot tommorow morning! my problem is when i gave her a pre mot test drive. As soon i pulled away the van bogged down and i had to give it plenty of revs just to get it moving, when driving the van all seemed ok untill i stopped and went to pull away again then it bogged down again. I think the brakes are free from sticking. I just hope some new petroll and a 20 mile drive to the mot centre will sort it out?
Brian.

Water in the petrol tank? If the tank has been sat almost empty for a year, condensation inside the tank could trickle down and create a thin layer of water at the bottom. Would start OK, but then the water gets sloshed around during acceleration/deceleration and sucked into the fuel pipe, causing stuttering/loss of power.
Cheers, Neil

sounds like the rear brake shoes are stuck on to me( a common problem when the handbrakes been on for a long time parked up) Try putting it reverse, drive back a few feet then forward again. if you hear a loud pop/bang then thats the shoes coming loose again.by the time you've driven to the MOTit'll most likely been fine again.
