Engine swap single cab

Hi my single cab currently has 2.1 wasser boxer want to swap for something a bit pokeyer will golf 16v bolt straight up or is that just to a 5 speed diesel box.... New to t25's so any info greatly recieved

Now if you think about it for a mo, the 16 Golf motor is a straight 4 and your current engine is a flat four. This means that non of the engine mounts, nor the exhaust, etc etc are going to be a "straight bolt up". But if you meant re the gearbox, then, no, you need the bellhousing swapping. All in all it is quite a big job.

This is from an article written by our "Diamond Hell" (LINK HERE) listing what needs changing / doing to go from WBX to in line 4

T25 diesel mounting bars, waterpipes, sump, gearbox bellhousing, oil pump pick up and clutch etc. A key issue in this conversion is the intake manifold – this fouls the chassis rail on a bus, when the engine is mounted at 50degrees. To get around this issue I recommend light impact adjustment on the chassis rail.
