Danbury Auto Roof --no so auto --81

Post by Itsblue »

81 A/C with Danbury auto roof ..or whats left of it !

having had the a previous owner of my van bodge the roof lift up mech and removed what i think should be an aluminum support for either end and replaced it with two gas stuts, which because of the missing frame , the roof doesnt open all the way over ,and misshapes the grp at the front hindge .

Ive read a previous thread on exactly the same subject but could find a response or a solution ,

Any one with a working Auto roof or even a now manual auto roof , im looking for pics of the aly frame to fabricate some sort of copy !

its the frame on the underside of the pop top which the gas strut is attached and hinged to the aly on the tin top from left to right

thanks in advance if you can understand !!

Hi,
Did you ever find a solution to your problem with the pop top, as I've still got the same problem.
Thanks
Pete
Ps
