Speed pulse connection

Post by randolph57 »

I'm currently running a E-Tdi AFN in my westy and although I am able to monitor many engine parameters the speed readout from the 2 pin pickup at the back of the speedo has never registered a meaningful value at my Ultragauge readout.
Can anyone confirm which pin on my 80 pin ECU should receive the speed signal(originally from gearbox takeoff)?
I have purchased a speed pulse module with 8 pulses per rotation of speedocable which I wish to fit correctly and then possibly take up the retro cruise option which would then be available (with a little extra work :D )
Thanks in advance

I got my sender off rjes and its works just fine..the t3 sender is a n AC output but the ecu needs a hall effect type on off signal, a mark 2 golf sender can be used but I never managed to find a suitable part for my speedo...it jamed the needle...so give Richard a call...if he doesn't know the PIN number (he will, I'm certain) give me a PM and I will find it out for you.

By the way CCS is great...I use mine a lot! Rjes also does some really good pedal switch brackets as you will need a clutch and brake switch as per the donor tdi car.

Ok
All sorted-seems like the original coil pick off was duff or not reading correctly for the ecu to read.just taken van for a short drive to check it out and will now check against Satnav-Thanks for the offer max!
