I carried my Vespa PX125 and monkey bike on one of these:

Now on Kev the revs van...
Great value if you have the correct tow bar (non swan neck).
Cheers,
Ringo

I've been looking at those racks as well. Loads of different sizes for sale on their e-bay site, the one i've been looking at is £78 plus p and p.

Re: do any of you have a moped rack?
when you say non swan neck what type is this? and why can this one not be used?
will these racks obscure the rear lights for a honda cub 90 sized and weight motorcycle and what rack would be suitable? will the junior be too small?
many thanks.

It's the type that the ball bolts onto the towbar.
You phone them up and give them your bike dimensions.
I always fitted a light board myself as even the monkey bike obscured the reg plate and lights.

To fit something like that to a swan neck....fitted to a westy for example....you need an adaptor called a bak rak.....38 quidd.
Im just about to buy one and then get a tray type rack fabricated at work.

My son uses one of these to carry his enduro bike on the back of his mondeo his only complaint is lifting it on and off the rack.
As all my bikes are over 1200cc I use one of these it dismantles in seconds and I can store it under the bed it also takes my vw trike which tows lovely on the back of my T25 I used to use a trailer for the bikes but this does bikes and trike not to good if touring abroad obviously due to the length on the ferry all extra cost but over here it's perfect for me. just an option for guy's with bigger bikes.

Do you have any problems securing the bike onto the carrier without a bar of some sort for it to rest against?
cheers David

they are ok if you use good quality ratchet straps not the cheapies from the pound shop they stretch and then it will hit your van.

I did have problems but that could have been my confidence. A bar would have been a bonus. I ended up making a bit of padding out of an old karimat that went on the end of the handle bar - and then strapped the bike firmly to the back door. Not perfect if you are precious about your paintwork.
Still, that could have just been me...

I did fit a vertical bar to the rack..but only really to protect the paint should any brake slamming event shift it.. you can just see it poking out at the bottom

and here the same rack with a much bigger bike

No not just you, i was chatting to Neil[hakuna matata] about these carriers and we thought it was a bit strange they didnt have some sort of supporting bar to strap the moped to.ringo wrote:jrt wrote:
