Fuel hose checks for Autumn

Up until now I've always used cloth braided hose as commonly used on v-dubs but by a stroke of luck this morning my DG wasn't keen to start so I decided to check out the fuel line as a pre-winter job. I noticed a slight whiff of petrol yesterday and although the hoses seemed dry, when I ran the engine with hatch up, petrol was literally squirting from beneath a hose clip right across the dizzy. The rubber was breaking up beneath. Its all done now but a timely reminder for those that haven't replaced fuel hoses in a while to replace them with the modern stuff which can tolerate all the new additives in petrol. If you don't you could well find your treasure go up in flames.

This has been covered many many times but a nudge does no harm and at least the weather is favourable at the mo. Couple of metres cost me £9 at local motor factors. Cheap considering alternative.

I think it's coming from this top hose or from round the spigot. I will run it up and see if I can see anything
