5 pot or not... ha ha ha

Post by toomanytoys »

Just a silly thought really.. but.. just been told I can have (for free) my old Audi 100 2.2 5 pot wagon back.. its a cracking engine and runs sweet as a nut.. rest of car is in real good nick too..
So.. was thinking of sticking it in the back of the doka..
Rogers single cab sounds bass ass when on the power.. and a bit more power wouldnt go amiss.. ha ha ha.. and it will run sweet on the lpg already installed..

Whadyareckon??

I could stick it in the back of the 2wd velle.. but that means a bit of work for the hatch..

Yeah.. about 140 horses and a nice dollop of torque.. 4th gear in the audi was about same rpms as top in the syncro and it pulled really well even loaded with a trailer on..
Yes.. bracing for the box needed..

A guy called Nigel Allen down here in Cornwall did this conversion in a 2WD camper about 10 years ago (possibly slightly more). I drove it before he eventually sold on and it was awesome. Probably better than driving a Scooby conversion and that was good. I remember that he did have to fit quite a big dimple in the engine lid but still managed to have a decent bed.

I photographed it for the old VW Motoring (I used to do a lot of work for them). If you want I will see if I still have a copy of the article that I wrote on it and will scan it and e mail it up to you.
