moving the gearstick

Hi guys not sure if this is in the right place or not im looking to move my gearstick back away from te dash by about an inch to accomodate a heqd unit with a flip out screen. I have a transporter 112 panel van.

There's a bit of adjustment to the linkage, back by the gearbox, but if that doesn't help you've got four choices...

- Add a bend to the lever.
- Semi-radical floor & linkage surgery to move the change box backwards on the floor.
- Put the stereo elsewhere, easiest by cutting a slot further over on the dash.
- Give up on the whole plan...

Brickwerks do a short shift kit but out of stock at the moment

put a bent gear stick extender on my Komet great job no more scrapped knuckles got it on ebay, just got another for my syncro project this time 8 inch long the seller has different lengths + straight and bent all for VW T4 but the thread is the same as the T25. going to bend the syncro one once i get her on the road.

As it says on the brickwerks link for the short shift kit above if you are scraping your knuckles on the dash then the linkage is worn of the stick bent

set up everything as it should be / once was and there will be no problem

badly adjusted linkage or bent stick is the culprit!
