wiper

Post by paulflan1958 »

Hi All
Coming back from windy weekend away in not so sunny north wales, my driver's side wiper decided not to work while traveling down m56 in pouring rain. Lucky enough just 10 minutes from home,is it a linkage problem, if so do i have to buy a complete kit, or can i buy part. I would be grateful for any advice, only can't use van till sorted.
Cheers

Could be as simple as the nut come loose and the arm not being powered OR could be the splines in the arm stripped (use a Stanley blade to clean up the splines in the spindle which could be full of cheesey deposits from the pot-metal arm) or etc etc etc

RHD van. remove glovebox and feel right behind the dash for the motor. Then using a 13mm socket on a ratchet see if the nut has come loose that connects the mechanism to the motor. Mine went once on the M62 in the rain and dark
