A 'clunk' when turning hard or breaking

Post by purplecrocs »

I appreciate this might be a bit vague.. but any guesses would be welcome on whats causing a big 'clunk' sound, usually when turning hard (slowly) ... or sometimes when breaking and almost stopped. Its coming from the front somewhere - underneath the cab area i think. I can't tell if its coming from a particular side.

I'm not particularly mechanically knowledgable (yet!) so any ideas of what it could be and what I'd need to look at to check that would be great!

Thanks

maybe look at the drop links for the Anti Roll Bar, there is a rubber bush where the link joins the lower arm, This can persish and cause the drop link to knock against the lower arm. The drop link itself could have snapped too

Thanks lloydy... I'll get the Haynes out to work out where those things are and take a look!
