I am very chuffed as my project van just sailed through her MOT with no advisories (mind you I have spent more time underneath her than in the house). What amazed me was the Brakes as she feels like the brakes are not powerful enough at times but the scores on the doors show otherwise, and as for the balance, WOW.
Fronts were 435/435 KG Rears were 340/345 KG and hand brake was 310/310 KG I have never had such an effective and balanced set of results on anything.(what a hand brake!!) The emissions with the LPG and a lambda control kit were great too at 1.8 CO% and very low HC.

Re: Just Passed mot
Hi there,
Balance is great but the actual figures can be a little misleading as the van tends to throw itself out the rollers before maximum effort is recorded. Interestingly, when brake testing commercial vehicles they often use a weighted arm system to 'load' each axle to prevent this happening.
As far as the MOT tester is concerned, all he is looking at is brake balance across each axle and the all important primary foot brake and handbrake efficiencies. These are displayed as a percentage against vehicle weight (50% or over efficiency, for the main foot brake)
