Right - before I go messing things up.....
Just doing an oil change - removed sump plug but there is no crush washer on it.
Peering up into the engine I can see a copper coloured ring around the hole - I just want to make sure that this is the washer stuck up there and not some sort of copper flange on the engine case (before I go attacking it (more) with a screwdriver)?
If it is the washer (which I assume it is) - any hints on how to get it out (its not given up to a gentle prodding with screwdriver so far)?
Follow on question - I assume leaving that washer in place and just adding another washer on top is a 'bad' idea?
(Bit embarassed having to ask a question about an oil change but thought better safe than 'very' sorry!)
